I did this today, very easy because there were not any lines! First time I have gone early, and I highly recommend it! If in Dallas, go here to find a location. Dallas County Elections Web site or here http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/pamphlets/earlyvote.shtml

How do you get the priviledge of voting early? Is this similar to an absentee ballot that you get when you will be out of town or for some reason unable to physically show up at the polls on election day?
I want to know because I'd love to avoid standing in the long, long line on election day.
I don't want to vote ahead of time. I know that sounds weird but I love the feeling of election day. Even though the past few elections haven't gone my way, it still feels so good to vote and I love getting the little "I voted" sticker. It's such a momentous occasion, I don't want to do it ahead of time.
Every time I vote I think of people the world over who don't have the right to vote. I want to savor it.
To your previous commenter, early voting varies by state but it is not the same as absentee voting. Call your county recorder for info on where you can vote early. I know in Illinois, early voting stops on October 30. Good luck!
I did miss the sticker. J went with me beause he is home sick. It was fun to take him with me.
I am going tomorrow, right across from NorthPark! I was going to wait to vote, but now I am volunteering at the polls for tweleve hours so I must do it ahead of time. Cannot wait!
