Bamboo Pink!!

A friend of mine is working on the launch of an awesome new, affordable jewelry line called Bamboopink by JudeFrances. The jewelry line behind Bamboopink, (www.judefrances.com) is an established, current fine jewelry line called JudeFrances, sold at fine retailers all over the country including Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th Avenue. These women (Jude and Frances) know what they are doing and Bamboopink is sure to be a huge success.

Bamboopink by JudeFrances has begun a grassroots marketing campaign to virially spread the news of their upcoming launch via the internet. The cool part is that we can win free jewelry just for signing into their website and passing it along to all of our friends. The company will track how many people that you send it to and reward you with jewelry- both Bamboopink and JudeFrances as well as other great prizes such as iPads and a great trip to CA.

Lands End Love

So, it is very very cold in Dallas right now. And since I just woke up to over six inches of snow, I thought I would look for winter coats for the kids. (For next year).

Little girls Squall Parka. Look at the built in hand warmers!! And I just love the cream color!!

Little boys squall parka. I am not sure if I prefer the red or the navy. I am leaning towards the red.

And of course, I need to match the kiddo's, right? I am sure that I had one of these, but I cannot find it anywhere!! Grrrr. But I would need a new one, in cream, to match T!!
And the best feature of all? The adjustable sleeves!!
"•New! Grow-A-Long™ sleeves extend up to 1.5 inches to fit them as they grow"

I am definitely going to add these to my list of "must haves" for Winter 2011/2012!!

Sledding Day Two...

Today, T had a MUCH better time than yesterday.

Today was freezing! I think it was around eighteen degrees (with a wind chill of around 5) when we were out there today. And tonight is suppose to get down to eight degrees!!! Can you believe it! There is ICE all over the roads, and I have yet to see a grain of sand. I honestly think they are saving it for the Superbowl traffic. Oh, BTW, they have "nicknamed" these sand trucks ICE FORCE ONE. Kinda funny, don't you think?
What is not funny are the rolling blackouts and the very, very slick roads. And I know you all up north are rolling your eyes thinking "It's only frozen rain"... well we here in Texas are not prepared for this. Thank goodness most of us ski so we have the gear to withstand these temps. Too bad that all my ski stuff is in storage!

Baby, it's cold outside!!!!

Today we had a very rare "snow day". So another Mom and I decided to take our kids sledding. We are some of the very few Dallasites with a true sled. No leftover pool tubes for us! Nope, we put our children on this death trap.  This was taken before we ventured down hill. Look how happy everyone is!! (Well, except for T who seemed to know this was not such a good idea.)

Well, we took some pics of the kids, and then we decided that we would put two on at a time. This being Dallas, and thus never being able to properly sled down a hill, we assumed the steepest route possible would be best. Were we wrong.

Our first mistake was underestimating the power of a hill of ice. The second mistake, that the nearly 100lbs. of our bitties could produce such speed, so quickly. Well, gave J a quick lesson about turning so he would miss any trees. Then we intentionally gave the sled a very hard push at the very top of a very long hill.

Everything started out pretty well, they were coasting along and we were trotting beside them taking pictures with our phones... Then before we knew it, they were off! And I mean fast! We were running full blast to try and reach them before they reached the end of the hill, and a road. Well, thank goodness for grass. J accidentally steered into it and they came to an abrupt halt. Whew! Mommy friend and I collapsed on the ground laughing and crying at the same time.

At this point, T, who had been on the back of this ride was DONE. She was cold, and she wanted out of this craziness!! I took her home, and Mommy friend took J and her kiddo, B to the top of a hill with a field of grass in front to stop them. Lessons learned.

Oh, and BTW, as I write this it is 20 degrees with a wind chill of 4. That is unheard of in Dallas!! I guess our Superbowl Fans brought the weather with them.
