Steroids...

J at Children's yesterday

WOW. What a difference. We (ahem, I) were up ALL night with J. He was hacking and wheezing all night, and he was really fighting the nebulizer. I understand. Not being able to breathe really sucks. (There really is no better description, it just sucks and it is not fair)

But, at 7 a.m. I was able to give him a dose of steroids. WOW. Twenty minutes later and not even the slightest wheeze. I hate the fact we have to resort to Prednisolone to get him back on track. Paul and I were discussing the fact of how lucky we are to be dealing with this in 2009. Had it been 50 years ago...shudder. So yes, he is hanging from the rafters, but he feels better.

I am interested to see what happens after we stop taking the steroids. I really don't want this to be a long term solution. It can be so bad for little bodies.

I feel your pain. I hope he is on the mend soon. We have dealt with the same thing before. Hopefully he will be well & not need the steroids long-term!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry you all had such a scare. Glad to hear the steroids are working--even if they are steroids.

Hang in there! Prissy has asthma too so I feel your pain. If it makes you feel any better, I think he looked positively dapper at the hospital!

As some one who suffers from Asthma, I have found great relief from it through seeing a chiropractor. Just a thought if it continues down the road :)

Hope the little man is feeling better soon,
