I wonder if I am just conservative, but that suit seems a tad bit sexy.

K, so I promise I am not ungrateful, but my Mom just bought this for T. After you get past the design, it is 100% silk. Would it be wrong to exchange? I see her wearing it 10 minutes before a disaster.

After school, J has his first play date tomorrow! I finally found a Mom who is not freaked out by an Epi-pen!

And, T is going to Neiman's with my Mom. Good times...good times.

So the Witch took all of Lucy's instructor's to a new location. The instructor's took most of the students. Now the new studio that was taking over Lucy's classes are questioning everything.

Now T may not have a class. Poor baby was really excited about her recital. Hope it all works out.

And I REALLY wish Lucy would give me Witch's name, so I could give her a piece of my mind! But, Lucy is too classy for that!

Tough times..

T's dance school closed. I feel bad for the owner (we will call her Lucy), she is super sweet, and this has been her baby. A woman(we will call her Witch) has it out for her and spread some ugly, ugly rumors. Bad enough that Mom's pulled their kids out at an alarming rate.

Why is this woman so upset? A man(We will call him Fred). I know older divorced women, all women really, can be ruthless when it comes to men, but come on!!! Lucy did not even know Witch, much less that she liked Fred. Furthermore, Fred is really invested in his relationship with Lucy, and I see this going places. So ha you Witch!! BTW, is the way to Fred's heart to ruin Lucy's livelihood?

Oh, upside for me? I got a HUGE denim couch for the playroom out of the deal! Yeah for me!

And Witch, I hope she remembers...Karma comes back full circle.

Sticker Shock

I just paid over $25 for lunch at Luby's. Luby's! A cafeteria people! When did THAT happen? Where are all the Senior citizens with fixed incomes going to go?

And...the line lady scooping the veggies gave me grief over wanting 2 vegetables per kid plate! (And, no, that was not extra, it's part of the kid plate package).

Ick

I faint at blood. Our cat just went into labor. And kitten #3 gave her trouble. Imagine if you will screaming cat comes tearing out of birthing box (a.k.a. a box of stuff I was going to donate), kitten halfway out, runs up to me, bites me, then jumps back and finishes. Except she is too tired after her crazy outburst and doesn't cut the cord.

Well... I do an Internet search, and armed with dental floss and scissors I am ready. I did it! Watching 5,000 episodes of "A Baby Story" finally came in handy.

Anyone want a kitten in 8 weeks?

These were from a birthday party they went to the summer of their second year. It was at the big playground at S.M.U. I would like to say I had fun...Sadly, no. They were so accident prone at this age and it was next to impossible to:
A. Keep them together (like herding cats)
B. Keep them safe (Paul had taught them to jump into his arms from high places)
C. Keep my sanity (We left after J jumped into what would have been a broken neck.)

Yes...J jumped and about 20 Moms screamed in horror as a lady grabbed him by his shirt mid-air. I miss how cute they were...but not the accidents!

HOUSTON -- Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry has been shot, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Team spokesman Nelson Luis said Landry, 25, suffered a flesh wound during a random shooting in the 3000 of Leeland Street in downtown Houston at about 1:30 a.m.Houston police said two men in a vehicle behind Landry's opened fire. Landry exited his vehicle to see what was happening and was wounded in the lower leg.Team officials said Landry also suffered a dislocated finger on his left hand. He was treated at and released from Memorial Hermann Hospital.Police said the shooters got away.

One of Paul's best friends got a text message from his brother early this morning saying there was someone banging on his door and wanting to come in. What did he do? Called 911 TWICE. Got his shotgun and told the guy to hide in the bushes if he was scared. Told him the Police had been called, and unless he wanted to get shot again, he needed to move away from the door. He fell asleep waiting for the police to show (they never did).

So this morning he woke up and went to work. There was a nasty mess on his front porch too. When he got to work he saw the above article. Same guy? We think so. The shooting happened on the same block as his condo. Crazy, huh?

Steroids...

J at Children's yesterday

WOW. What a difference. We (ahem, I) were up ALL night with J. He was hacking and wheezing all night, and he was really fighting the nebulizer. I understand. Not being able to breathe really sucks. (There really is no better description, it just sucks and it is not fair)

But, at 7 a.m. I was able to give him a dose of steroids. WOW. Twenty minutes later and not even the slightest wheeze. I hate the fact we have to resort to Prednisolone to get him back on track. Paul and I were discussing the fact of how lucky we are to be dealing with this in 2009. Had it been 50 years ago...shudder. So yes, he is hanging from the rafters, but he feels better.

I am interested to see what happens after we stop taking the steroids. I really don't want this to be a long term solution. It can be so bad for little bodies.

J is in bad shape.

T got sick with Pneumonia. I got sick, Paul got sick. J was doing great. Not even a runny nose. We thought we were in the clear.

Then yesterday, I heard the most awful sound you can hear with an asthmatic son. The wet cough. So out came the nebulizer and breathing treatments. Then today, he is having a treatment and it was not working. He is crying, telling me he can't get a breath, and I look at his fingernails which are turning blue...

I try not to panic as I am running him to the car, while yelling at Paul to hurry up. Since I was freaking out, Paul took him. His oxygen was at a 93, which is low, so he is at Children's getting treatments. Hopefully, he won't have to spend the night.

UPDATE: J is home now and napping. He now is on steroids and other meds. We also need to watch him like a hawk! Lets hope he stays under control.....

I got nuthin'

T is MUCH better. J never got sick. But, I am downing cough syrup like, well... like I have a cough that WON'T GO AWAY! Argh. Since I have been out of it or almost a week, I promise something tomorrow. For now,back to my thera-flu induced coma.

T was still coughing today...

so Paul took her to the Doctor again. She has developed a double ear infection and Pneumonia. Not good. The Dr. is running some tests to see what we do next.

And I thought she was doing better! Lets hope we can treat this at home.

Sick days...

yep, now I have the crud. Of course it is a beautiful day, and T is feeling good for the first day in forever. Ugh, back under the covers.

Whew!

T seems to be getting better... we will see. She is still really sick, but not so lethargic today.

And, yes, we saw a Doctor. My old pediatrician (now the twins) was roommates with my Father in Med school(who is now an orthopedic surgeon). My Mom also went to Med school, where she met Dad.

Any who....Dad checked out T, and she has pink eye, and a virus. She has a cough, and a fever that is finally controlled with Tylenol. We were worried when her fever was not breaking and she was lethargic. If she had continued down that road then we were going to need to take her to Children's.

Thanks for all your well wishes! Off to watch yet another princess movie!

T is really sick...

she has a nasty virus, and after day 4 she is not better. If she does not get better soon...Children's hospital is in our future. I have NEVER seen her this sick. She is just sobbing...
